Another nice day, nice relaxing sleep waking up at 7 a.m. plenty of time for an 8:30 breakfast and 9:30 start to Killarney. I have found memories of Killarney – also I recall a record my dad owned, the old 78 style – it was Bing Crosby singing How Can you Buy Killarney This was my second visit to the town and what changes! I remember it as a small but bustling little town on the banks of Lake Lough, now it is a very busy town – gone are some of the more picturesque views of the lake as hotels have sprung up. I had hoped to take a DEROS trip to the Gap of Dunloe with a boat trip through the three lakes back to Killarney, alas due to other circumstances that was not possible. Instead we had a trip on the lake (boat was built in Amsterdam and is designed like one of the Amsterdam Canal Touring Boats) followed by a 45 minute tripe through part of Killarney National Park by Jaunting Cart. Due to the nature of the Jaunting Cart (unsprung) I have no usable images from the back of the cart.
